Public Works Inspection
Management of the City of Turlock's Public Works Construction Inspection program falls under the Development Services Department, Engineering Division.The public works construction inspectors are responsible for the inspection of all public improvements under construction by both the City and private developers. The inspectors strive to provide quality inspection services by ensuring that all construction is in accordance with approved plans and specifications and that they are in compliance with the City of Turlock's Construction Standards and applicable sections of the Municipal Code.
In an effort to render the greatest benefit to the citizens and visitors of Turlock, staff seek innovative ways to reduce and or avoid future maintenance costs, provide for public convenience and safety, and minimize public liability.
We currently have five (5) Public Works Inspectors on staff.

Public Works Construction Inspectors are responsible for:
- Inspection of on site improvements in the form of grading permits on private property and off site improvements in the form of encroachment permits in the public right of way.
Grading Permit Application
Encroachment Permit Application - Inspection of capital improvement projects, commercial developments, industrial, residential subdivisions, and multi-family developments.
- Inspection of improvements such as sewer, water, storm drains, curb, gutter, streets, traffic signals, parks and airports.
- Erosion control monitoring.
- Assistance preparing and updating the City's Construction Standards.
- Assist in review and approval of improvement plans.
- Assist in permit processing.
- Review temporary traffic control plan
